Safe and accessible entry was required to a temporary modular MRI facility installed within the campus grounds.

The facility was introduced to help address and reduce the growing backlog of patients awaiting scans.

Our modular ramp solution was chosen as the best option compared to other materials considered. Its flexible design, quick installation, and fully demountable nature made it ideally suited to a temporary project such as this, and the hire duration matched the unit’s time on site.

A comprehensive site assessment was conducted by our in-house surveyor, taking into account key factors such as entrance heights, surrounding ground conditions, available space for platforms, ramps, and steps, as well as any potential obstacles.

Based on the survey, detailed 2D layouts and 3D visual models of the access solutions were created. These drawings illustrated the ramps and steps in situ relative to the building and surrounding area.

They also provided valuable support for the contractor during discussions with the customer’s key decision-makers, helping to streamline approvals and achieve quicker sign-off for the installation.

To minimise disruption to the campus and its critical services, the systems were installed on a Saturday and were immediately operational once completed, allowing staff and patients to use the systems without delay.

Once the unit is no longer required, the access systems can be dismantled simultaneously—typically within a day—restoring the area to its original condition. The components can then be redeployed for use in other rental projects.
